Re: Metric Fuel Line?

I use old-style 6mm VW cloth braided fuel line. Almost any place that stocks foreign car parts will have it. Downside is that it will disintegrate with ethanol, so I try as much as possible to use non-ethanol gas. Yup ... cloth covered VW line is what I got coming from Amazon. I'll just assUme the ...

Re: Metric Fuel Line?

OK then - wish there was a decent shop in the area ... ;-} I did find 7mm on Amazon and added it to my shopping list. Also found a couple comments here and there about using standard US sizes. Basically, 1/4 inch can be used but will be a PITA to install, and 5/16" could slip off or leak even if cla...

Metric Fuel Line?

Yah, I know ... wrong forum, but general hammering kept booting me out if I tried to post there ... (mutter mumble) Went to fire it up my 2011 for the first time this year, and it'd just crank. Crap! Saw some staining on the air cleaner, and the transfer hose had sprung a leak, so no fuel. Went to r...

Re: LED blinkers installation

I've got a mix of LED and standard lighting on my 2011, and nary an issue, including fast blink. Probably makes a difference that the signals are bona fried motorcycle accessories?

Re: Tractor to Solo Seat Tutorial Gear Up and Retro - Uses HD Police Solo and springs

Update >> Went back to the stock bench seat here and I was unable to get a good feel for the harley saddle after many many adjustment attempts. I didn't mess with the original mounting points, so it was a simple swap to just make it like it was ...

Re: Backerest for enduro seat, fabrication

Nice job and food for thought here. The harley saddle just never really worked for me. Just put my enduro bench back on the bike and thinking backrest ...

PS - anyone know of anyone who makes custom covers for these seats? Wouldn't mind adding a leather fringe, and maybe a gel pad.

Re: second spare wheel for front with disc brakes

Wondering what another spare in front of the car would do to the center of gravity? I've run without any spare for some time, and for whatever reason, got bored and put it back on this spring. Went for a ride, and found it to be a bit squirrelly in the corners. Then again, I didn't take the time to ...

Re: Paronite Gaskets getting me down.

My vote is for the urban dictionary's definition ... kac KellyAnn Conway, the sound a cat makes while throwing up a fur ball. A most explicit fraud and liar or alternate truth teller, bullshit artist, etc. PS - I'd also think the inclusion of asbestos fibers in the mix for the shuttle's o-rings woul...

Re: Terrified

I gotta get me some training one of these daze. Still more or less making it up as I go along.

On the bright side, the scary moments are getting farther apart as time goes on. Heck, I can go full minutes at a time now without almost killing myself ... again ... ;-}

Re: Terrified

Anyone have a home remedy to that major tool setup? Video is fine for showing the idea but to buy that for a couple adjustment and never use it again? Not a good answer. I used an old full size bed frame to check the toe on the car. Nice cast iron rails long enough to do the job anyway. Close enoug...

Re: Terrified

I think we all have some minor deity looking out for us the first few times we hit the road. Less than fond memories of my virgin voyage, hitting the brakes and trying to steer into a gas station, almost doing a head on with a car trying to pull out as the rig (couldn't be me, right?) over corrected...

Re: Short sidecar windshield

Could shorten the stock shield? I'm told you can cut the bottom with a small kerf jig saw. Maybe someone who's actually done it can chime in here. I'd be interested in bobbing mine as well.

Re: Tires and wheels ands tubes oh my

One of the best additions to my tool box, a stem fishing tool ... just put the end thru the hole, screw it on, and pull the stem thru ... https://static.grainger.com/rp/s/is/image/Grainger/33W510_AS01?$mdmain$ Do you tighten the stem nuts down hard? I always left em loose, and that allows the tube t...

That LED headlight could probably burn holes in a 2x4 at 100 yards, eh.
