Re: New 2020 Gear-Up Owner First Impressions

Congratulations! Fairly new to sidecars myself having owned my 2018 GU for about 15 months and Spousal Unit having hers for six months. My only comment on your initial impressions is to not think you really have the hang of riding sidecars just yet. I think it takes significant experience and hopefu...

...are spotlights useful? :?
They're hopefully more useful than the OEM LED driving lights on the GU's hack bumper, the performance of which has left me a bit unimpressed.
The OE auxiliary lights are pitiful. Has anyone looked into replacing the LEDs in them?

Re: Hydraulic Brake Locks

Until it’s not. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ -- THIS -- Those who rely upon a hydraulic brake to hold pressure for a long time, shall one day find their vehicle at the bottom of a pond. I believe I will run a little test. Spousal Unit and I are going on an 8 day ride about on our R12GS and GSA. I'm going t...

Re: Raceway Ural Recommendation

I just have to say what an excellent job of installing a couple new things on my '18 Gear Up Raceway Ural did yesterday I live 5 1/2 hours north of Salem (location of Raceway Ural). I have 2 dealers within 1 hour of my home, but Raceway is THE dealer to use if you want quality work done. I had a le...

Just be aware they're not for longer than 20 minutes or so use....

Plenty if delivery trucks made that mistake and rolled down hills .
I’ve left ours set for multiple days and the brake was still firmly locked and the bike could not be moved.

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?

Yep. Line lock. I've seen them in use, more than twice, at the drag strip. I replaced the speedo unit on Spousal Unit's 2019 GU; it went tits-up about ten days ago and was a warranty item. Plug and play installation on the speedometer? That was my perception when having a look at mine whilst the he...

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?

I replaced the speedo unit on Spousal Unit's 2019 GU; it went tits-up about ten days ago and was a warranty item. Also installed a Bullet Brake to replace the finicky original parking brake that took up too much space on the handle bars. The Bullet Brake was easy to install, is easy to operate, requ...

Re: Limited Number of Clicks Per Visit

I have not been experiencing any issues for the past few days. I just puposely visited several threads, a number that would have resulted in a lockout before, and had no problem. Perhaps the issue is resolved.

Re: Funny or WTF photo thread

"there are two types of people in this world. those who use the metric system and those that have been to the moon." Correct, however, I suspect they exclusively use the metric system in NASA now. Do you remember the Hubble fiasco? One team/supplier used metric system the other (the other system); ...

Re: Choosing a Dealer

We’ve purchased two Gear Ups from Raceway in Salem, OR. Great owner who is always responsive and works with you to solve problems. They are 720 miles from me but always available for diagnostic advice and quick to send any needed parts.
