Re: Trailer question - Tech?

Harbor Freight 1195lb 4x8 trailer. Sketchy, absolutely no room to spare, but only $350!

To be clear, any farther back than pictured and there was no tongue weight. The trailer axle should be moved 6-12" rearward.

Visit Prichard's in Kelso, not far from Jack Daniels, but far friendlier and more interesting!

Fun Fact:

A Ural Gear-Up fits perfectly on the 1195lb Harbor Freight trailer, SKU 62648 or 62666. The 20% coupon is not accepted though.

Re: CVK32 Cross Reference to Other Bikes

I believe these were also used on Bonneville's in the 90's, and probably a lot of other bikes around the world. If I have a chance to look a bit more, I will.

CVK32 Cross Reference to Other Bikes

I was tooling around and rebuilt my carburetors last weekend. I did some searching to see what bikes had the same-ish rebuild kit and ended up ordering a kit for a pair of carbs off of a GPZ600R. The pair was $11 shipped from Ebay and even claimed to have viton o-rings. The kit PN is 18-2639 and can...

Re: Carbs and Elevation

Thanks to everyone here. I am now running stock 122/40 with 2 shims. Idle mix is 1.5 turns out. What a 'wake up' the shims are! Runs wells aside from a rare cough around 1/4 throttle when rolling on. 40 mph 3rd gear plug chop today was light grey. Will try another tomorrow in 4th with the monkey and...

Re: Best drive tire for a "GearUp" rig?

I do 90% pavement, but the K37 has been great. Pusher lasted 3500km and, commuting on the Ural all winter, I never got stuck. Even in jug level Denver snow.

Re: Carbs and Elevation

Ok, I am back, and my bike has finally come to see me...

The jets are all stock 122/40/(65) - no shims on the needles.
That combination should do just fine for now at 1,000 ft and up into the smokies. Perhaps I'll get a set of 125's for experimentation purposes.

Random stuff from the years. Biking, motorcycling, cars. Will be tailoring down to cars and motorcycles once I start rebuilding my ford and get a project bike or two again. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcMRKSlBgV-xMhIiVU6eaJQ Have a 2nd started for music I've been writing but nothing is on it ye...

So many maps options on google claimed to be free...

Google itself gets expensive fast.

Re: Carbs and Elevation

Thanks guys, for some reason I thought the mixture was the 'backbone' of the tune and that all other fueling was baselined off of that. With my reading about CV carbs, I expected them to compensate some for the elevation change but didn't really know how much, especially if they were set up for mile...

Carbs and Elevation

I know, I know, what are my current jets and shimming you will ask... I haven't cracked the carbs yet. But, I am moving from Denver to Knoxville, 4-5k foot elevation reduction. I assume I'll need to get 1 or maybe 2 steps bigger jets than what is in there. It runs great between 4000 and 8000' right ...
