Re: What did you do ON your Ural today?

Given that I drive 42 miles one way at 1500 every day and considering the horrid condition of the other roads, the I-95 Express lanes are the lesser of at least five evils...

Re: What did you do ON your Ural today?

I had my first experience running out of gas, just coming south of DC on the I-95 express lanes. What a joy to try to put gas in from the Jerry can with a plastic nozzle when wind gusts from cars going by at 75 mph slew the gas around onto your gloves/shoes/tank... A BMW rider stopped to see if he c...

Re: Weird headlight issue

I haven’t had a chance to have it outside to work on with all the crappy weather we’ve had lately. (I also dread doing anything electrical, so I’m pretty sure there’s a fair amount of subconscious procrastination coming into play). Really appreciate all the info!!

Weird headlight issue

About six weeks ago, I noticed my headlight was dim and not knowing how long that light had been on the rig (bought it used), I replaced it with a silverstar. Initially all was well, then it too started to dim so I used the high beam, which burnt out after a week. So, I bought a Hella H4 unit and th...

Re: Noob life—rear brakes not working

I guess I’m officially hooked on this rig...being off of it for a week just plain sucked, today with temps in the 50’s and sunshine, with a healthy Ural, was just plain fun.

Thanks all for the replies. Is there a step-by-step, noob-level link for bleeding the rear brakes?

Noob life—rear brakes not working

Yesterday I swapped the rear pusher for a new one and wanted to change the brake pads at the same time. When I put the new pads in place, the caliper wouldn’t fit so I tried to depressed the plunger using a “c” clamp. Didn’t move that much, so I opened what I’m assuming to be the bleeder pressure nu...

Changed the pusher tire and rear brake pads. Not a huge accomplishment to most on this forum, but it was my initial time with the Ural...
