Re: Disc to Drum Conversion

Can you post some photos and maybe some measurements of the reaction link mount on the fork of your 2013? I don’t have anything with leading link forks any newer than 2005. I’m curious what the difference is between the mounts. At some point, they changed the lower rocker bushings to bearings so yo...

Re: Disc to Drum Conversion

Excellent, thanks for the info and pictures Jaybird. Best option would be to buy a second older all-drum Ural and keep my 2013 as is, but I don't have room for 2 of them. Should that change I may go that route. In the meantime I will start looking for parts to do the conversion on my 2013.

Re: A Little Day Trip

Nice. I've been doing a lot of rides like that lately and then following-up with a visit to the same place(s) with the Ural to see what I missed. Similarly riding and exploring on one of the scooters you can see more and "smell the roses" more than just hitting the road on a regular motorcycle. If ...

A Little Day Trip

Yesterday a friend and I rode up to Decatur, AL to visit Allsport, Inc. Allsport recently picked up the Triumph line (for the 2nd time) and we wanted to get a look. After drooling over the Triumphs we headed over to Joe Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge to ride some dirt/gravel roads. https://photos....

Re: Disc to Drum Conversion

Chad, Lokiboy and Barry, thanks for the input, all valid points and mostly what I have already considered. I will try a search again, but my previous search did not produce results that showed the details, just mentioned it had been done. Even if I do go forward with this idea it will be a while bef...

Disc to Drum Conversion

I have a 2013 Gear Up. I am interested in converting it from the current 1 disc/2 drum brake to a 3 drum setup. I searched the forum and while there were some results for others who have done so, details of what was required and how they went about it were a bit thin. Any advice from members who hav...

Congratulations! I would have bought it myself if I had the room for it. The seller was quite a character, eh?

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?

I added some sidecar safety straps today, hopefully will never test them out. First up test fit the straps. I used these, they turned out to be a bit too long. I may switch them out to shorter ones in the future. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SNHHXQL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8...

Re: What did you do ON your Ural today?

Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International, KBHM. Mostly Delta but prior to the COVID-19 issue Allegiant, Delta and Avianca had planes there. Some of those were here for a refit, but the vast majority are now stored due to COVID-19.

Re: 1998 Ural in Warrior, AL $2500

I went and had a look at it today after helping a friend put brake pads on his BMW in a nearby town. I went to look mainly out of curiosity, but I would like to have an all-drum model at some point. It is a bit crusty, surface rust on top of the tank, rust around the trunk straps and other typical U...

1998 Ural in Warrior, AL $2500

Not mine, but very local to me if anyone wants it checked out. Ad copy: 98 Ural motorcycle with sidecar. Runs, needs carb work. Be the Only one in your group with one! Seating for 3 with a trunk and a spare! Pick up people of questionable ethics! 4 forward gears and a geared reverse! NO starter- kic...
