Re: The big trip

Better late than never. More to follow shortly. We landed in Turbo on the 4th of June a new continent and in a strange way the beginning of the end. Even though we don’t think we will get to Tierra del Fuego before December 2020 we are on the final land mass. Turbo would not be on my list of places ...

Re: How much can these be ridden?

We are on our way to Fin del Mundo, (see the big trip) and have 48000k on the clock. Drive sensibly listen to the bike and enjoy. You are only only limited by your own fears.

Re: Sidecar wheel problem and alignment

Thanks for all the help and advice. I have Gobuim's wood block and have used it a few times including now. I swapped out the spare and tightened up the suspension 1 notch, now it is at one from the hardest. The alignment is still off a bit but not too bad and the wheel is a lot truer. The change in ...

Re: Sidecar wheel problem and alignment

Thanks again for the help. I think I have found a shop to true the wheel. My plan is to change out the wheel with the spare but for that I need a jack. All I have at the moment is Gobium's 2x4 which is not as stable as I would like. The bike is a '16 and I am sure if the spare is changeable with the...

Re: The big trip

First of all thank you all again for your help and suggestions. We finally got a hotel with a flat parking lot. I had a look at the bike when it was unloaded and the camber was not as bad as it seemed when I checked it a few days ago. I had also experimented with a new loading plan. I think the prob...

Re: Sidecar wheel problem and alignment

It is a 2016 gear up. Thanks Harry and all of you, that is a good start. Hopefully the hotel today has parking where I can work on the bike. I don't think it is the bearings as the wheel feels solid when I rock it. The plan is to take the wheel off and do an inspection of all the welds axle etc. I w...

Sidecar wheel problem and alignment

I need help again. It looks like I need an alignment also the side car wheel has a problem. It is about 5 degrees off vertical, looking from the front the bottom of the wheel is out and it leans in to the top. The wheel feels solid and the spokes are good and the strange thing is the handling is sti...

Re: New Guy Here and Soon Buying a Ural Gear Up

Listen to RC20 he is right. I couldn't even get it to go in a straight line in the beginning. Start off very slow and when you are comfortable with that increase to slow. Run it in well and use the enforced slow speed running to learn. Keep it to short trips in the beginning it is mentally and physi...
