Re: Choosing routes for Urals

I took a trip on my 2004 Troyka a few years ago. We had to do some freeway (405 for about 30 miles) in order to get where we wanted to go. We left on Sunday morning when I knew the traffic would be light. 55 and 60 MPH were easy to do. We got to the second ferry in Annacortes that afternoon, and I w...

Re: How did you come to riding a Ural?

In 2001 a customer told me he was getting a Ural. He had taken the sidecar safety class and had his 3 wheel endorsement. He never got it. I have seen some on the road and found them interesting. Re: First Snow!

I have used my 2wd very little. However if you are powering in 2wd and you need to steer, pull in the clutch and the front wheels will steer again.

Re: Arrived

Practice everything slowly. There are roads where you will have to slow way down to make a right hand curve due to reverse camber. You will get a feel for the sidecar width soon. Ride toward the middle of the road. Just a short trip to the store can be really enjoyable. While you are riding solo, pu...

We are in the Seattle area. I have been to Kamloops once a few years ago. Lots of nice 2 lane roads up there.

Re: New Ural - New driver

That is beautiful. When you get up to highway speed, it really helps to have the sidecar windshield either down or removed. The sidecar windshield dumps all of it's air on your face. I really like that color. The CT has the smaller rims 18" vs 19" on the 2wd Gear up. So it has 5% better off the line...
