Re: Rear brake

Beating a dead horse but to resurrect this thread, the rear brake line developed a leak at the swage so I replaced it so of course the entire system was full of air. Reverse bled it (big syringe at the bleed point ) pushed fluid through the the calipers back to the reservoir and pushed to max level....

Re: EFI (again)

Thank you for the response. I spend a lot of my time bouncing along remote roads at low rpm. Then it would cough and puke and stutter when I needed more power. Almost like if I was running a carbureted v8 truck and you had to rev it up to clean out the crud then it would run fine. I switched to the ...

EFI (again)

So, in the spirit of beating a dead horse, back to EFI maps. I still have the original map in my 2014 gearup. Maybe an occasional burp and fart but runs smooth after switching back to NGK BPR7HS - 10 and I got the new plug wires. So now I read people saying that the original map was too lean and you...

Re: 2017 Slide Show

FWIW (millennial code  ) Here's a link to the map of my travels this year. https://drive.google.com/file/d/15XJ22KqC3LwBcPVuK4xUOQ0JHjG0v_7Q/view?usp=sharing It should open on a Google Maps page. Be sure to switch to satellite view and you can zoom in close enough to see the road surface. Yell...

Re: brake proportioning valve

The calipers slide freely on the bushings. The cam on the calipers for the park brake would not let the master cylinder relax far enough to allow the fluid to bleed back. Works fine without the park brake.

Re: brake proportioning valve

My originals went out at 2000km now on 11000km with one set of the sintered. Even with the park brake adjustment slacked off to the point that it was useless the brakes still dragged. Got rid of the park brake and they work like all the other calipers I've had. I had a moment this summer riding with...

Re: brake proportioning valve

Ah. And thanks again. My reasoning for the larger rear master is that I can overpower the traction of the rear tire on all surfaces and that less of a mechanical advantage would be acceptable. Second, I flunked ballet classes...

Re: brake proportioning valve

Just thought that putting a larger rear master cylinder to shorten the pedal travel and rather than the mechanical link to the tub master, instead go through a proportioning valve.

Re: THAG Report

DAY 5 If you have driven across the middle of Wyoming, you know there is not much to see. The scenery is drab and there is nothing really of note. [/i] Used to be my sentiments. I drove from Powell to Rawlins last year in the cage and was almost bored to tears. However, the ride from Lander to Rock...

Re: THAG Report

Those guys were not kidding about the strangeness of the setting. A normal summer day here you might find one or two people. https://photos.smugmug.com/Motorcycle-Adventures-2017/2017-Thag-eclipse-great-escape/Aug-21/i-QrqMqTD/0/760bae42/XL/P1000655-XL.jpg But ol Tx2 laid claim to a reserve for them...
