Re: Daily commuter in the dirt and on a budget

Do you have backup transportation if the Ural is down longer than a couple hours? I ask because while some of us use Urals as daily drivers, I also have other more reliable transportation. Some people post looking to make the Ural their only transportation and that's different advice from a "if I ne...

Re: Smartphone handlebar mount

I use https://www.amazon.com/Motorcycle-Wirel ... B07TKGNHRZ

I have it mounted to the fairing support, but it could also mount to the handlebars. Allows the phone to charge when the bike is on.

Re: Looking for mod and upgrade suggestions...

Your main road bearings are installed when the crank is built, they're the ones that likely fail, but yes when changing out a crankshaft I would change out the end bearings as well. The main rod bearings in your crank have a soft aluminum cage holding the rollers, it's not the symbol of reliability....

Re: looking for muffler hanger

Your part is a 2005 and older piece. I believe the part number is IMZ-8.123-12060 for the push on headers, right side. If the part number is similar but is like IMZ-8.123-12060-01 with the added -XX it's for a different year/ exhaust setup. It is unlikely your local dealer will have the same part, t...

Re: Looking for mod and upgrade suggestions...

Post your location and you might find local folks. Crankshaft should be checked and probably replaced. It's a 5 piece pressed crank with questionable bearings. Twisted cranks are common as are destroyed bearing cages. Timing gears can be swaped for modified Herzog, might be able to do similar on the...

Re: Goodbye Sweet Molly Malone

Question: What year wheels will fit a 2021? Really like that the wheels go into any position on bike, but $1k is real pricey. https://live.uralcatalog.com/details/30935 shows the 19" spare tire and all it's parts. The 2014+ 18" will fit your cT. On the Gear Up's, the spare wheel includes the interm...

Re: New rider, opinions please!

Check the alignment, lean out, shock settings, etc. Prior owners do some really screwy things with bikes, and Urals seem to be modified by clueless people more than most. It's possible the bike's not setup correctly. The geometry of a sidecar rig has smaller design limitations, and you must ride wit...

Re: Need some help, lost power

Enrichener on and wide open to start, as cookiemech pointed out, sounds like the idle jet is plugged and the main jet might not be much better. Pull the carbs, clean all three jets and whatever other good has built up in the bowls/ passages. Wide open throttle won't do squat with timing, and if it s...

M2Boxer modification - Relocating Intake Air Temperature Sensor to inside Air Box

The M2Boxer system is mainly designed for pre 2014 bikes which had the old style airbox. The 2013 and older airbox would have the breather dump into the housing on the left side of the bike. 2014+ airboxes have a different routing. I was experiencing surging at higher RPM's and wide open throttle. T...

Re: 19" Wheel conversion for cT

May not sound pretty from a marketing perspective, but Ural also wants to make people think the bike is a Jeep, strange nonsense. There's even a few folks at IMWA that would like Ural to go to all 18" wheels. They're smarter than some give them credit for, they know what sells best isn't necessaril...

Re: 19" Wheel conversion for cT

Not entirely true. Dependent on how the smaller or larger tire affected the gearing and how much, or if enough, available torque and hp from engine could compensate for it. A smaller wheel will result in quicker acceleration but to maintain same speeds would require more revolutions. More revs, mor...

The Wheel parts catalog for a 2012 Retro is at: https://live.uralcatalog.com/category/sub/6/31/ Black Front wheel is: https://live.uralcatalog.com/details/2832 Toss the parts numbers into a search engine to see who has them. AF1 Racing tends to list almost all the parts at fair prices. New rim - htt...

Re: Why 19" wheels instead of 18" on Gear up?

I confess that I am confused why anyone would what to go through the time and expense of changing the wheel size with no apparent improvement in performance and the downsides such as loss performance and speedometer calibration. The only reasonable case, I can think of to change wheel size would be...

Re: 19" Wheel conversion for cT

This came up in a youtube video, by Ural, how to change the pusher with the spare I think - the issue was, he said, they (Ural) weren't sure if the 19" with the small hub as the pusher was strong enough - after some testing they concluded that yes it is, so yes it can be a small hub like the 18". I...
