Re: Flinter fun & futzing

Mainly because of a now deceased friend who was involved with reenactments I played around with black powder for a few years. Not nearly as nit picky as a flinter but there was still plenty of $#!+ to go wrong. While I did enjoy it with him my main take away was a tremendous respect for the men out...

Re: Timing

How often does the timing need to be checked? Canadian FJR The service intervals are specified in the service coupons, chapter 16. https://static1.squarespace.com/static/58c1ef5abf629ab8bade3657/t/58c8519029687fd3a5bf0406/1489523103094/2010+Owners+Manual.pdf Ok, this is probably a dumb question, bu...

Re: Half drunk & wandering

I’ve used cereal box cardboard for gaskets on small engines in the past, but now I just keep an assortment of gasket material on hand. My wife got a new Cricut machine last year and I’m told you can scan images in and use it to cut out gaskets. I’ll eventually get around to giving that a try.

Re: What did you do ON your Ural today?

Brought home 2 4x4x8’ and 6 2x4x8’ pressure treated lumber from the lumber yard on it, piece of cake. Got some strange looks from the yard workers though. Probably no stranger than when I brought a 12 foot butcher block countertop home with my Ural. It's my pick-up truck now. Yep! I love how useful...

Re: FS: Snow plow for your Ural

Wow! I'm absolutely curious if that is something that could be shipped to central MN on a doable budget. Put it on a skid and send it? Somebody must know, in the ballpark, what that sort of shipping costs. Is it worth asking xpatriot to even consider shipping? My neighbors would be in envy using th...

I fly my chair all the time, haven’t noticed any related problems. Then again, it’s a Ural so you never know what’ll happen.

Re: Cylinder Head Temp Gauges

I have cylinder head gauges on my 2019 GU. Yes, the right cylinder (next to the side car) runs about 40 degrees F higher than the left cylinder. I can understand why. BUT when the engine is at higher load, the right cylinder climbs over 400 degrees while the left cylinder drops to 200 degrees. It s...
