So, in addition to your goodies, I need to be on the lookout for a Dnepr airbox? Yes? I'm fed up with messing with oily filters.

A Dnepr airbox doesn't really fit without substantial modifications, and undesirable compromises, I tried it and a wolf airbox that uses the same filter without satisfactory results. Still have a case of filters for them that IMWA gave me.

There are common dry lawnmower air filters found in many hardware stores that fit in the OE airbox.

I tried a Dnepr box last year for ease of service, and in an attempt to raise my air inlet for unexpectedly deep water crossings. My engine performance suffered and I contributed it to the more restrictive branch tubes. They are considerably smaller diameter than my stock Ural box.

I did not a one piece flex tube and made it from 3-4 pieces clamped together. All were larger diameter than the air box tubes but it may not have been as smooth flowing as a one piece.

What has your experience been?

Ah?!
Did you use the paper russian filter?

I can't confirm it positively, but should as it's smaller than the wolf airbox which was based on a retro frame. As mentioned earlier, the smaller branch pipe diameter is an issue that needs to be resolved.

From my experiments it's definitely the branch pipe diameter that's the issue. The Russian paper filter itself flows superbly.

I made a similar sized airbox that used the same paper filter with full size branch pipe outlets that solved the problem.

Bill (monkeyuncle) made 2 airboxes he gave one to me, he tested in NM at 5000 elavation i tested in MD, same branch tubes JD hose.
Bill does not like to get in the airbox debate or making them for sale, unlike me!
Btw most of this mods airboxes are spoken for, i dont do production just trying to share . There are no $ in selling ural parts or inventions trust me.
