Howdy.
would happen to have link for cj pump ?

MH Moto World sells them on eBay for US$65 plus $16 for Shipping. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CJ750-large-flo ... 8K&vxp=mtr

http://www.oldtimergarage.eu/catalog/pr ... ts_id=3957 Euro50 (about $47 after VAT discount) plus shipping.

Sidecar Pro probably has them.

Would the CJ750 high volume oil pump fit & work in the Ural engine?

Also, Van did you get a chance to checkout Scottolds rebuild thread? What are your thoughts / experience with ceramic coating engine parts? Have you ever done this to any of the Ural engines you have rebuilt?

Since it's the same size and shape as the Ural, and bolts in exactly the same and Oldtimer specifically describes it as being for a Ural - YES!

I have no experience with ceramic coating on Ural but both my Ural buddies have them on their ural. They like it.
I tend to spend extra cash on German forged pistons, D10 crank, skf bearings....ect

I have a Ural 650 oil pump in my Chang flathead. It has the same outside dementions but has bigger gears. So The High Flow CJ oil pump may just be a stock Ural pump???????

I was thinking same.
Same size, same gear, same flow.
Raceway has taller gears in pump and longer overall dimension

If you use a CJ pump check it first! Some turn the other way so It would not pump oil.

One thing I noticed
When servicing ural with hi volume oil pump.
It seems more oil escape from breather valve into air box.
Best to vent hose into some sort of oil breathe catcher

Perhaps the addition of an oil deflector at the breather valve inside the engine, or possibly modifying the oil feed to the timing gears might cure that situation. Oil in the breather already seems to be a problem looking for a solution.

No, the 6V CJs use the M-72 pump which has thinner gears (6mm) than the Ural (8mm I think). The high volume oil pump was designed for the swing-arm CJs which had a tacho run from the oil pump gears and turned slower so were fitted with larger gears (15mm) to move the same amount of oil. They also turned clockwise. It is a simple modification to make them pump in a CCW direction and when used in a Ural they pump more oil than a standard Ural pump. Anyone know how high the gears are in the Raceway pump? The flow figures provided by gobium earlier would suggest 18mm (assuming the Ural gears are 8mm). The high volume CJ pump should pump about 131 litres/hour.

Van would you recommend replacing the Ural oil pump with the Raceway oil pump and why?
The $225 oil pump cost is a bit of money but if it would really improve the engines life
then it would be worth it.

I can't answer that truly .
I don't have first hand experience with raceway pump.
only feed backs from six customers .
They all luv the pump.
Uptodate I did 13 and couple 650 crank rebuilds and
none of engines have raceway oil pump in it.
Over on fb,
the European guys luv hi volume pumps.
if raceway :D would sent me a pump! I would install the sucker in my ural. I m not affraid
