Tip, tricks on replacing oil seals on Herzog tranny

Postby motoleo » Thu Aug 29, 2013 5:50 pm

I want to replace the oil seals on a 07 Patrol Herzog geared tranny. The tranny is out of the bike and off the engine and I've already removed all the old oil seals. Any tricks or tips on replacing the 5 seals (output shaft, clutch shaft, kick start shaft, reverse lever shaft, shifter shaft) with the trans unit assembled? Or is it just a straight forward get the correct size socket to fit the outside diameter of the seal and tap in the seal?

All I did was get the correct size socket and just tapped them gently into place. They're holding still.
