Put it up on the center stand and jack up the sidecar wheel, spin the wheels by hand listening and feeling for anything out of sorts both in and out of gear. Rotate the rear wheel by hand and attempt to put it in and out of 2wd. Verify clutch is adjusted properly it will cause problems with shifting if it is too tight or loose. Make sure the brakes are not dragging
If it all seems ok, try everything with it running at idle. check if it will shift through the gears, and go in reverse. They can be very stiff when new, sometimes it is just a matter of breaking it in some and getting a feel for it.
There is a possibility the shift quadrant stops are not adjusted properly, or one of a few issues that sometimes pop up on a new rig, but those are things your dealer should handle with a new rig.
