At that age, condition is everything. I've seen MUCH worse sell for close to this price. This looks like a VERY clean bike.

Brian, There is a red 97 posted for 4k if you want to save a few bucks friend.
Cliff. Yes it is very clean. The paint is flawless as in zero chips or scratches. The upholstery neither worn. No rust but yeah very little grime under the tub. The wheels no rust...anywhere. Three good Russian tires. All the rubber gleans. Every light and starter work. I can kick it over from cold. I'm the third owner. The og buyer was a service man who put 2700 kliks in 8 years. The next 7 years an elderly man put 1200 on. Yeah its a Ural and that is why Im selling.

PS. Starts cold but will hold idle. Once warmed runs very smoothe and strong to top end. Shifts like a beast. Comes with HQ custom 600 dollar HD cover and all original goodies.

Nothing against an excellent condition 99 650 but $4500 is crowding the optimistic edge of market reality. It certainly doesn't scream BUY ME , Your bike your call call. Hope you're not in a hurry to sell and don't expect lines forming to buy it.

Not trying to slam anyone here, but it really isn't very polite to complain on a sellers post unless you are a inquiring purchaser. Asking price isn't always selling price anyhow. Anything is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

I do not know the seller and have no dog in the fight. Just my opinion.

+1 - Good 650s are getting scarce and will soon be antiques. They are after all 'real Russian', not a UN of parts like the new ones. Try sourcing a decent flathead or M6x in the states and see what you pay.

It's kind of apples to oranges given flatheads and M63s were never imported here.

Cliff, I agree 100% and there has been on occasion, bad form by some of our members in that area.

However, I don't think that was the case this time. We didn't really know it was the seller making the original post as it was just a Craigslist link with no effort to introduce himself or personalize his post. Non-buyers offering their opinion on EBay and CL listings is not a bad thing as it can help a noob get some perspective before putting up their money. IMHO, the original post was the bad form this time.

The original post is pretty straight forward.
Sorry I didn't introduce myself. You can tell from OP I am the seller and poster Cliff. Thanks.

Cliff, no it is not easy to tell from your original post that you are one in the same as the craigslist link you posted. Your signature line says nothing about your location whereas the link says Santa Clara making it hard to connect the dots. Your profile link says green and the list says green as well but the bike is clearly OD if the photo is correct. Your profile says your 101 and hope your not suffering from Dementia because I'm not and don't think your close to my age. I've advertised in the black market before but everything should be up front and leave no doubts in the readers mind as to who is selling the item or bike. For your information I sold a 2002 Ural with 850 KM's on it for $4,500.00 3 years ago and my 1994 DNEPR MT16 in 2008 for $1,500.00 which was the last I heard running around in Kansas.

Yeah well I can agree with postings should be allowed negative  or positive  about a sellers ad I also hope you agree when I can point out to the posters who displayed the negative comments without any investigation :?: to what was actually being sold and can sit on their a$$ and feel the necessity to criticize, instead of being out riding mind you, :lurker:
The 1999 Tourist was:
Krytoxed, Herzog, full fairing and dual windshields, panniers, LEDs, spare rack and 4 Russian tires @ 90%, camo seat and tire cover, complete re-wire, SS hardware, EXCELLENT paint, front and rear bumpers, engine guard, $600.00 marine quality custom fit cover made by a boat cover maker, bar end mirrors plus original as spare, Ural 12 volt receptacle, full tool and tyre kit levers, jack, original owners manual, bill of sale and history note booked, spare bulbs, wires, fuse, hardware, emergency kit and a bevy of other goodies. So you naysayers of how I post my add or that I'm high as a kite, or the bike was nothing special...well you did not lose out on a great deal because I sell to the deserving I like. Not the gyp me down types. :bs: The buyer didn't even hesitate on price because he knew a good deal. I'm the one who lost.
So I will give you a chance to top that and tell me where you seen a sweeter deal for $4,500.00. ??? :foilhead:
