Dave,
Here are a couple of threads on Rokon World about the Sportster seats. I figure you should be able to come up with a mount.

Howdy Walt,

I just noticed this post, did you sell your 5th wheel trailer?

Still have trailer. When by myself the truck camper is just right. I'm sure you remember how easy they are to park - anywhere.

Howdy Walt,

That makes sense. I sold my camper, would sell the truck but I won't give it away and in today's market a 13 year old tricked out diesel pick up isn't easy to sell if you want anything out of it. That and I like the mileage that I get with the Freightliner.

Sorry for being a bit off topic, but what kind of mileage do you get with the Freightliner?

I figure it would be better than expected when not pulling a trailer or a fairly light trailer.

To be on topic:

I hope to at least do a drive through of the area on my return from Vegas to FL sometime between April 24-27. I figure it should not be hard to find a bunch of Ural riders grouped together.

Howdy scottolds,

Over the last 43,000 miles of hand calculated miles driven verses gallons used the Freightliner towing a 20,000+ pound trailer up and down mountains at speeds when appropriate of 62-65mph has averaged 8.2mpg in complete comfort and in total safety. I might add that the Freightliner is a stand alone motor-home in its own right and that I have on rare occasions just thrown the Ural on the rear deck and attended events without need of a trailer, in such cases it gets around 12mpg.

Please stop by if even for a short visit or stay, you will have a good time.

I think i can make it this year, i'm putting in for vacation time. A few questions, is there any dispersed or free camping within 10 miles? I'm driving a jeep pickup with small trailer and just want to camp in the truck. Is there still spots open for the campsite everyone else will be at?

There is free camping just down the road from Archview. Be advised that most dispersed camping requires you to be self contained, carry your own toilet, and the rangers do check occasionally. Archview gets full the last weekend we are there because of the car show but you should be able to procure a tent site there if that is what you are looking at.

Archview is not really a campsite but a campground/ resort place like a KOA.

If you come up for the Jeep Safari then you know the routine. The car show weekend will fill up all of the downtown and cheaper hotels but the ones on the North end of town should have rooms for the car show weekend.

If you are going to be there all week and have room you should bring the DR 650 also so you can do at least one trip with the dirt bike crew. Gary and Rich will be there with their KLrs and they don't do sidecars. Gary knows Moab from a dirt bike perspective better than most any one I know, he is the one that got me started going there with the bikes 18 or so years ago.
