I am supposed to be in Las Vegas the previous week for work. If all goes well I will have the Ural with me and my route back to FL could involve a stop in Moab. Not confident enough that it will happen to book any lodging and will play it by ear. I need to actually finish putting the Ural back together before I commit to anything :)

Howdy All,

OK, I just got off the phone and have reserved site number 72, arriving on the 24th, leaving on the 1st. Is anyone bringing their Rokon's this year?

Howdy Milo,

I can't keep up with the name changes, are you the Milo who used to be known as goldncaves or something like that? :?

As to cows, I don't know nothing about cows but I do know a bit about herding cats and pity Dana each year in April as he valiantly shows his skills at doing so.

Howdy All,

Dana if your not cool with this, PLEASE ask a mod to delete this post. :deal:

As most folks know I build what I honestly believe to be the strongest, best made, most functional skid plate that can be purchased for the Ural motorcycle, if your going to be attending the Moab event and don't have a skid plate I would strongly recommend that you get one no matter where you buy it.

I am thinking about building and bringing a couple of skid plate with me to this years event, so if you would be interested in buying one of my ALL STEEL skid plates heres your chance to get one delivered to the event. Buying one at the event will get you three things, ONE a cheaper skid plate as you won't have to pay for shipping, TWO I normally do NOT paint the skid plates I sell them as raw steel but for the ones that I bring to this event I'll shoot them with some flat black Rustolium paint, THREE even thou they are VERY EASY to install if needed I will provide personal guidance should you need it, notice I said guidance not installation.

So if you want a skid plate that will fit WITHOUT ANY USER MODIFICATIONS any year or model of Ural that has any stock or commonly commercially available exhaust system, and will work with any of the commercially available after market shifters EXCEPT the one shifter built by raceway that shifts the FORWARD gears NOTE this skid plate will work with the raceway shifter that shifts the FORWARD gears but the left front mount would need to be modified and this mod requires the use of a welder, so if you want one contact me and let me know. Special Moab delivered, painted, installation guidance provided, price $300.00 Thanks.

I don't build cheap, just TOUGH.

I DO NOT want to hijack this thread.

If anyone wants a skid plate PLEASE contact me by PM rather then clutter up this thread I only put my first post concerning skid plates in this thread because Moab is a very nasty place and folks show up with unprotected rigs and there is no place around to buy a skid plate thats why I offered to build and bring a couple along in case someone got there and then realized how much they are needed.

Thanks, Dave

Do not worry about clutter Dave, it is my party and my thread so conduct all of the business you want.
:puter:

Make sure you bring the Rokon Dave because we are going to take a scouting trip over to check out an area for hosting a Rokon Romp. Probably load the Rokons on the trailer and haul them over by the campsite and then unload to ride the area and see if it will work for a romp. Milo and I have ridden the Rokons over to wipeout Hill from Archview but it is a full day adventure and I do not want to take that much time at the Ural get together.

Howdy Dana,

My plan is to have the Rokon with me, I have to get off my arse and figure out a way to get some suspension on the seat, riding it now is killing my back the way it is.
