Well, we all have 5th grade senses of humor....

Granted, some cross the line...my wife thinks SCROTUM and Twat are highly offensive, while the others are just plain silly.

I just realized today that I don't even know what any of them mean or where they are.
At first glance I don't know if the FART is 3 states away or right in my back yard.
I have to look each one up anytime someone mentions them.

I'm grateful Ivan Grozney et al. kept the Jersey Devil Hunt simple.

It could have ended up being "HURL- Hunting Unsubstantiated Regional Legend" or "POOP- Pinelands Outdoor Otiose Pursuit."

Updated for 2012 Ural Rally NAMES and INFORMATION List

Postby hdflame » Fri Dec 02, 2011 3:02 pm

I thought I'd BUMP this to the top so we could have all of the rallies in one thread. We can just update the dates for 2012 and/or add to the list with any new or missed rallies.

I'm looking forward to trying to make more rallies this year and meeting more members from the site!

I'm going to copy/paste the list here and I'll also make changes to the first post in this thread as needed. If anyone needs to make additions or changes feel free to do so or let me know and I'll make changes to this list for you.

C.R.A.P. Rally- Carolina Rally and Pot Luck. Held at Jordan Lake usually the last weekend of March. Camping next to the lake, nice bath house, lot's of FOOD and drinks. Having a good time and telling stories around the camp fire is mandatory!

B.U.R.P.- BlueRidge Ural Rider's Party, usually the second weekend in July, held at Willville Motorcycle Campground at Meadows of Dan, VA.

F.A.R.T.- Fall Annual Rebellious Tour, second weekend in October held at the KOA East in Black Mountain, NC.

Jersey Devil Hunt - Spring and Fall. Spring Rally is usually around the 2nd weekend in May; Fall Rally is usually around the 2nd weekend in September. Pine Barrens of New Jersey. Sometimes Wharton Forest, sometimes Lebanon Forest (now called Byrne Forest). It is an OFF ROAD rally. Dirt, mud, water fording, deep sugar sand. 2WD not always necessary, but helpful; 1WD rigs with a nobby on the pusher is usually adequate. If not, someone can pull you out with tow straps or come-a-long.

NH SCREW (New Hampshire Sidecar Rally Everyone Wanted) Weare, NH July - Runs Thursday to Sunday, usually the last week of the month. Off-Road, dirt roads & street run in conjunction w/ the Merrimack Valley Military Vehicle Collectors Club

T.U.R.D.- Texas Ural Riders Division Rally's in May and October in and around Texas. Always check the "Upcoming Rides and Rally's" forum for info.

SPITS aka SPring In The South was a rally that Robbie Moore used to host at the Shriner's Rodeo Grounds in Abbeville, SC each May. NO LONGER EXISTS

3x3x3 (Three States, Three Wheels, Three Days)
When: Mid-June, dates change some.
Where: The Russian Triangle (Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, and sometimes Minnesota)
Why: Because several of us got tired of going to ralleys and spending all of the time standing in hot parking lots and not riding.
Who: My wife and I post when and where we are going to be spending a long weekend riding. Then any of our friends that are available come and join us.

ACTUrAL (Apple, Cheese, Touring, UrALs)
When: September or October dates again change some.
Where: Has been in the Russian Triangle, But this year and last it moved a little futher south, but still along the Upper Mississippi River, to include another
triangle (Iowa, Illinois, Missouri).
Why: We decided that one long weekend a year was not enough
Who: See above.

I will be hosting a rally again this year at my home in Thomaston CT. August 5 - 7. We will be riding in from the Canadian Curd Rally with some of our Northern Brethren the week before. i wish there was a SWANK rally (SouthWest Amassing of Nonchalant Komrades) or something.
How come it is so lonely here in Commiefornia? Kalifornia? Arid-zona? Lost Wages,Nevada?
I need to follow someone around so I may learn precisely what it is I am doing on this contraption.

:(

Take the lead and make it happen! Just put together an informal get together. Find a camp ground with group camping and set a date, then post it on here. The CRAP RALLY has grown every year. Start out small and see where it goes.

As for learning to ride, find out if there's a course near by. I'd had mine for three years and a class still helped me.

Good luck.

Good idea Bobby.
I live right at the entrance to Sequoia Natl. Park . There are great campgrounds in town. Mayne I will put something together for after the snow melts up in the Park.

I definitely want to take a course. Am planning on doing the one in Oregon when they start up again.

Grew up just down the road, that would be fun. I hope the ranger who escorted my hungover partied all night friends and I out has retired or he may not let me back in. As for school Oregon is your best bet but I think Cason City Nevada had one class a year also. If you find yourself in my area give a shout, the wife will tell you all about her bike that she monkies in.

April 28, 2012 is the annual Vintage sidecar and Motorcycle Rendezvous in Paso Robles, Ca. Info at: <www.pasoroblesdowntown.org>

I've attendted 3 times and it's fun to see all the different sidecars and meet their riders. It's like Griffith Park Rally on a small scale.
