I was some what amazed at one point riding and feeling "I've never really felt the bike has run so well" at around 11,000 to 12,000 KM's. So that real, true break-in process continues as long as you are consistent in the way you drive her and then can have such an epiphany yourself. I think I'm at 22,000+ now? But you really become a major part of the containing machine shop process as you rack on the miles or Km's.
It would be interesting to hear from some of the early adapter efi guys (2014 and up) to see if they are starting to feel a good break-in/run-in difference yet since its basically the same engine with the efi slapped-on. I would think it would be the same. Ya just gotta get there. Who has the most efi bike milage?
2007 Ural Patrol, 2006 Yamaha TW200, 1995 BMW K75, 1969 BMW r60/2US
Great photos. Rig looks right at home in the first photo. The final drive uses do little oil it isn't a bad thing to change it out every oil change too.
Miles aka Kilometers
On a hiatus to try out hacking my Harley after owning and loving a 2007 Gear Up, 2014 Patrol, and a 2016 Gear Up. If a Harley/Hannigan rig doesn't make me feel like my Urals did I will be in the market for a black with white pin stripes Retro.
