50km (31.07 miles) @ -20°F. The day started at -14°F (see PBC #9) but since it felt cooler down the road, I stopped and decided to start another video. And, since I had repaired my heated gear, it was working great. Almost too good as I ended up turning it down as my hands were getting too warm.

10km (6.21 miles) at -15°F. This ride is through part of the Goldstream Valley which is the next valley north of Fairbanks and the Tanana Valley. Just south of Fox, I stopped to start the next video.

Occasionally but most motorcyclists that I know just switch to riding snow machines in the winter. I tell them that the Ural is a street legal snow machine.

25km (15.53 miles) @ -13°F. Start off with a short clip from the Steese Hwy with a view of the sky looking south. Then I circled south of town on the highway and have a clip from the Parks Hwy that heads north and west at this point but eventually ends up in Anchorage.

22km (13.67 miles) @ -2°F. A slightly different perspective with this video. I have the GoPro mounted to the left-front turn signal stalk. I don't have a long enough USB cord so the camera is just powered by it's battery. It feels like a warm day compared to earlier in the week. I'm just heading to the university end of town by turning left instead of right. I.e. the scenic route.

7km (4.34 miles) @ -1°F. Just a short trip from the university to home. I still have the GoPro on the left turn signal stalk.

Richard, please post a photo of what YOU look like in your riding gear. You must be bundled up like the Michelin man to stay warm in those temps.
Miles aka Kilometers

On a hiatus to try out hacking my Harley after owning and loving a 2007 Gear Up, 2014 Patrol, and a 2016 Gear Up. If a Harley/Hannigan rig doesn't make me feel like my Urals did I will be in the market for a black with white pin stripes Retro.

I'll try and remember but just a Gerbing heated liner, and a fleece over jeans and tee shirt. With a Roadcrafter Light (unlined) riding gear. Nothing unusual at all. I think you get used to it after a while...

Ummmm not sure I want to get used to it lol but maybe once or twice would be ok. Guess where you are you either do it and ride or cease riding for much of the year. Kudos to you for sticking it out

27km (16.77 miles) @ -8°F. This is the return trip from the Airhead gathering at the Silver Gulch microbrewery in Fox, AK. The video starts down the Steese Expressway to the Johansen Expy to College Rd ending at home.

37km (22.99 miles) @ -17°F. Started from the Ballaine Lake turnout and just rode around for a while to put on some miles. Didn't really have anywhere to go...

36km (22.37 miles) @ -12°F. Started from the Ballaine Lake turnout again and headed east on Farmers Loop. I then circled around on the Steese and Mitchell south of town back near the university before stopping. I never did find the -28°F that the NWS was reporting. Or maybe I wasn't paying attention.
