There is an online "competition" called the Polar Bear Challenge or PBC at http://polarbearchallenge.tk/. No prizes, no awards just something to do. You get points for every mile ridden when it is below 32°F and there is a factor of 0.1 for every degree below freezing. You can only submit one YouTube video per day and it started on Dec 1st and runs through Feb 14th. In many cases, I would record multiple videos per day just so I have some ready to go for days like tomorrow when it's supposed to be -28°F. Just thought I'd create a thread for the videos...
26 km (16.2 miles) at -5°F. I didn't realize until yesterday that I could've started to record videos in advance and just submit them one per day. Still in interior Alaska and we've had below 32°F temperatures since the latter half of September. We already have had over 4 ft of snow.

11 km @ -8°F. This is a short ride from College Coffeehouse back home via Yankovich Rd. The difference in temperature from PBC #2 and this was 15°F. That really shows the temperature inversion. I.e. It's much warmer in the hills!
25 km @ +12°F. I needed to run into town to order some parts for the plow. This short video has numerous clips from the roads circling Fairbanks. The ones I haven't had before are Van Horn Rd to the east ramp of the international airport.
26 km @ +10°F. Some decent scenery with the sun shining brightly underneath the clouds. Starting from College, AK, around through part of Goldstream Valley, up Ballaine Rd then through a small subdivision Rd to Yankovich Rd.
60 km (37.28 miles) @ -2°F. Picked my plow parts and headed out to North Pole just to get a little variety in these videos. I made a loop through the parking lot at the Santa Clause House and came back into town.
#9 9km (6 miles) @ -14°F. Rode down to the golf course to take the temperature and odometer video. The intent was just a short ride so I rode to the other end of Farmers Loop Rd to turn around and head home but it was -20°F so I started a new video. So PBC ride #9 is short. Gotta take advantage of the colder temp, eh?
