What's with w@$#ing and w@*ing being censored?

Post by Mikey » Fri Mar 23, 2018 12:40 pm

I do apologize for such blunt question but I cannot find it in the search only people avoiding the words. Please be straight forward so I can grasp what's going on. Is there an actual problem with w@$#ing these bikes or is it just that they look cool used?

In the URAL world cleanliness isn't considered next to Godliness. I always figured it came from: "Why waste time w@$#ing when you could be riding?"

As Foghorn Leghorn used to say - "It's a joke son."

That particular pronunciation is actually prevalent in southwestern PA. I used to work with a woman from Connellsville who said that word in that exact manner. Hearing her say "Garsh" instead of Gosh was always good for a chuckle.

I also worked with a gentleman who would say "battree" instead of battery. He grew up in Luzerne County, one of several so-called coal cracker regions in the Keystone State.

Being of Pennsylvania German extraction, I personally spoke with a Dutchy accent. That ended when I arrived at basic training, where I received no small amount of encouragement to refine my speech patterns. It worked.

Love US accents. Ok, I wasn't sure what it was about and I see that it's in the filter to replace the words, I thought people were just playing a long joke I wasn't aware of.

Wouldn't a clean (ish) bike be less rusty and issues seen more readly?

Southern Indiana, it's woarsh; you woarsh a bike. And it never fails, you get yer hands wet and you need to go to the terlet. And of course, you then have woarsh your hands afterwards... But bat-tree is the same. Go figger.

big difference between waarsh, and woarsh.

When I moved to Virginia Beach from Illinois, I pronounced neighboring city 'Norfolk' as such: NOR-foLk.
Now, after living here for twenty-five years, the locals, who pronounce it "Naw-fick", have halfway worn me down: I now pronounce it "NOR-fark". :D

Yah but is that applying emotions to an inanimate object? Or are they truly not happy with water. I need to get the pressure washer out as I have sand on my local roads and things start feeling gritty

Most people here prefer the off road military bikes - pretty hard to put a shine on flat cammo paint. As for cleaning - a good number of these bikes do soil themselves (weep Oil) Mine stays clean, but likes to mark it's territory, & does so wherever I park over night. I outsmarted it - & bought a big drip pan. The odd part is - I've never seen any oil loss on my dipstick, or when checking oil levels, & can't find the source. My own fault for using that Sneaky-Houdini Synthetic Oil.
I'm sure there are a few here who like the caked Goo & Mud pack "experienced" look, but My 02 Ural is a street bike, & I prefer CLEAN toys so I can see possible trouble coming. I also try to be personally presentable in public. Even so, at 71 I don't need to fake an experienced appearance.
Speaking of experienced looking.....
