oil filter question

Postby 505stevec » Sat Mar 05, 2016 11:09 am

I ordered an oil filter and O-rings/crush washers for an upcoming lube service. The filter sent is paper wrapped around the filter. All the filters I have seen look metal with holes. This looks shorter also.... NOOB Question of the day... Is this the right one? :o

Yes it will work. That's the difference between the Russian paper filters and the EMGO filters.

The Russian paper ones (the one you have) are a lot easier to install.

Thanks for the help! Mine is a 2007 Gear Up. Another question... I was looking for a sidecar windshield. They are spendy here in the states. I found one for a 650 cc Ural in Germany on Ebay. Will that fit? Thanks

The sidecars haven't changed much over the years. Do you have a link to the one you are referencing. I'd hate to tell you yes it will fit and find out later it doesn't.

If you search Ural Windshields on MC part, you will see a few sidecar windshields. The one from Germany is the one I'm looking at

Yes that should fit and it even looks like it comes with the brackets that mount inside the sidecar.

I'm thinking you saw the $60.00 shipping price tag as well.

Where are you located? A lot of guys on here took their windshield off and may part with it cheap.

I'm too far away to help you out. Maybe you should put a wanted to buy post on the black market forum. As it is, your windshield question is lost in your oil filter post. In 2013 Ural changed the snap arrangement on the skirt of the windshield. They went to a twist fastener. I don't think the grommets are the same size. Carl
