Thanks! I've got a big school parking lot literally right down the street from me so I think my current plan is to find a rig then spend a few weekends there practicing before hitting the road. I also have a friend with some acreage and I imagine some off-road time would be beneficial as well for the learning process :)

While on the road remember lane position is important.
Got mine on Easter weekend, spent three days riding in the local school parking lot. Time well spent. Started with ballast and then eliminated.

I'm picking up my '16 Gear Up on 3/15 and will start reading the Yellow Book tomorrow. I'm registered for training on 4/15. I looking forward to joining the group.

Off to find this yellow book :)

Don't bother.

Google 'Hal Kendal's sidecar guide' and download it for free. The Yellow book owes a lot to that guide and the Sidecar world lost a great man when Hal passed away a few years ago

You can download Hal Kendal's books free on the United Sidecar Association's website here

FYI I did finally hear back from Danville Community College (VA)

They *do* provide sidecars in their training class or you can bring your own.

Unfortunately the first class doesn't start until Sept but I'm going to sign up and hopefully will have my own ride by then!

I got the go ahead from the boss after a 'why in the world do you want a sidecar' look. :glare:

So my V-Strom 650 is up for sale if you know of anyone looking or would consider a trade.

The page you linked says I must be logged in to do that.

For those of us who want to look at what you're selling, is there another listing somewhere?

I need to check in more often.
I took the sidecar class at the community collage in Lynchburg va. I can't remember the name right now, but it should be easy to find. The instructors name is Dennis Phillips. Great guy and great instructor. They do provide the rigs (sidecar outfits).

if you want to give my Ural a spin around in a big parking lot, you're welcome to. Just send me a PM.
