I just ordered the Hella H4 E code from Headlite Services, along with 2 bulbs.
Nice site with good info. Thanx for the tip.
I'll post with an update.
Great insights from a great site. Thank you.

Ok...any feedback yet?

Have you installed the new lamp yet?

If so, remember the e-code lamps have to be aimed just right for the beam pattern to work well.

I installed the new headlamp( Hella CEC) and Phillips 100+ bulb 60/55 watt from Headlight Services.

The problem is that the bulb is about 1/8" too long and the rubber boot takes up even more room, so I could not use the boot.

I managed to squeeze it together, but I'm concerned it may lead to problems in the future.

What do you guys think?

In order to make a HID H4 Hi/Lo fit, I had to disassemble the 3 prong plug and make it go behind the headlight bucket, not in the headlight bucket. Other than that, the HID bulb has 1/4" room to spare, no problem.

FWIW, I would try to use the rubber boot anyway, somehow. You may have to cut some of it away to get it to fit, but it is pretty important to keep water/dirt out of the lens.

YMMV

Here's my headlight progression so far... Upper left is stock, upper right is Cyron LED with stock lens, lower right is Cyron LED with Hella lens. It's not perfectly scientific (I can't lock camera settings, the sky was slightly lighter when riding with the stock setup, etc.) but does show some pretty clear differences between the setups.

Also, since it just came up, I'm not using a boot with the LED bulb. I've had no filth find its way into the headlight bucket so I'm not even remotely worried about filth finding its way inside the lens. Besides, with the big heatsink/fan on the LED there's not really any good way to get the boot to fit anywhere near well.

I like the eyes closed: a lot less fuss and worrying. Where can I buy it? :D
