Mods Dnepr air box fr LeMoto

Postby gobium » Tue Oct 10, 2017 12:23 am

Coming soon to black market
Custom perch rings made by Bill (aka monkeyuncle) for branch tube (made in USA)
Air box is a modified Dnepr . Unit will come complete ready to install.
Tested and approved, very easy to install.
Filter can replace under 30 sec.
No clamps needed on branch tubes
Price will be announce soon
Limited due to quantity of perch rings (bill is semi retired and only would make a dozen rings for me, these are NOT Raceway perch rings, ring design to fit tight on brand tube.
Dnerp air box is superior than ural carb airbox.
Lot of folks made home make leftka air box but this will look better on ural, it looks factory ome

Van, sounds like a viable upgrade option. IMHO for better breathing and service ease "almost any" airbox would be better than what the carbed Urals came with. Hope Uncle isn't too proud of his work to keep the price affordable. You may just be on to something here where everyone benefits. :) Best of luck.

Looks good Van.
Which filter element you be recommending to use with that box?
Are the perch rings specific to those hoses or will they fit any of the others?

Van, what kind of testing have you done with a Dnepr air box?

I tried a Dnepr box last year for ease of service, and in an attempt to raise my air inlet for unexpectedly deep water crossings. My engine performance suffered and I contributed it to the more restrictive branch tubes. They are considerably smaller diameter than my stock Ural box.

I did not a one piece flex tube and made it from 3-4 pieces clamped together. All were larger diameter than the air box tubes but it may not have been as smooth flowing as a one piece.

What has your experience been?

Hi david
That is interesting.
I was worring about getting too much air, if you look at the 2 filters, ural filter has less surface. You are right about branch tube, ural is 3-4 mm bigger than my rubber hose. I will test on differnt ural. I dodnot have any promble with my Sahara, i rejet it long ago and cannot remem the size, dnerp box is actual bigger than lefka or bill box.
