The handguards have been on since day one. I bought them as an extra and the dealer installed them. They are motorcross guards that also have a shield for the brake reservoir.

My fork nut was hollow and threaded, all I had to do was drill through the top of it, maybe 3/16 of an inch, than run a tap through it and install a bolt.
I have a spare nut and I will look to make sure its the same way. if so I will send it to you. PM me your address

Thanks Ickie!

They must have changed them on the late model bikes, because mine is solid.

thanks for the information sir. something to add to my wish list.
the manual says max torque is at 3750 revs, rated rotational speed (maximum rpm?) 5600 revs
could some one with a tach post a table of speed/rpms?
60 kilometers = rpm
80 kilometers = rpm :)
100 kilometers = rpm :D
200 kilometers = rpm :bs:
I would be very interested in this information
