Modified the text on my videos to correct the number of Urals and now I know why that BMW was sitting there when we got back from lunch. Gene, Becky and a host of others worked their tails off setting this up and kept telling a lot of us who were willing to help to go have fun instead...

What?? Urals in a pile somewhere? Redones here, black ones there, what about flat or shiney paint? Language is weird when you actually read what you said. :)

Why did you need "sorting out that many rigs"?

YMMV

Hey SM

What?

A Ural pile up  No pictures :( didn't happen :P

Since Holopaw is the OP and the event was at his shop, most of the Urals he was bragging on were probably set up or
sorted out by his shop :D

again Gene  way to go!!!

I have worked in a 1 man bike shop for 14 years now :D
and I am responsible (if you ask the owner's) for a few hundred sickles and when a pile of them gather for local events
it's always rewarding to not have any mechanical issues :foilhead:

Hope this helps with the writing weirdness

British English vs American English. In the UK, "sorting out" means setting up, fixing, or otherwise taking care of.

Did you truly not know this, or were you joking a bit to move the post conversation along? If the former, I highly recommend hanging around with some Brits for a while, or better yet, going and visiting. Or just reading or watching some British books or shows. If the latter, well, everyone's sense of humor is a little different, I suppose.

Hey TR

On this side of the pond  in the power sport industry (aka the motorcycle business)

"set up" usually refers to new vehicles and it's listed in the cost "delivery & set up"

where as "sorting out" usually refers to the fine tuning and repairing of any issues of used vehicles

and since Holopaw does both new sales and service I was referring to their ability  to
properly!!! set up a new rig, not just put it together :) which I read many dealers struggle with :o
and also their skill  at sorting out the older rigs that they maintain for everyone
as per their reputation and they 50+ Urals with NO issues :boogie: :boogie: :boogie:

But it's all just words
turning a nut is the same if you do it with a spanner or a wrench 8)

But since I seamed to upset everyone with my incorrect terminology AGAIN!!!

I will get my wife to check my post before I submit them :(

NOT!!!! :P

Holopaw Crew keep up the GREAT work!!!!!!
I'm sorry for the thread drift :( but it's SS so :old:

I'd like to point out something about the weather during the rally. It was perfect. Devine intervention. Saturday mid day it actually started to get hot. Well, a huge cloud came over and just stopped. Enough to cool down the day but not too cloudy to spoil things. Then at night we had totally clear skies with a full super moon. Sunday clear sunny skies for the group ride to St.Cloud for lunch. Perfect weather for a perfect rally!

True that about the cloud Saturday. Go to Ride Reports, have 4 videos posted there and others have posed pics as well...

Rigs came from a bunch of different dealers. IMZ marks the frames to assist with set up. Can still see the markings on my M70. I was just amazed at the number of Retros and M70s! I like them so much, have one of each! If Ural simply made more and at least put them in an ad or let a magazine ride them, would/could sell a lot more of them! 40 a year is too few... IMHO.

TriumphRider98 and cateyetech, some folks just like to make comments in an attempt to make themselves feel good at the expense of others. I understood what you all meant with no issue...saying that, my mother-in-law is British as is one of my sidecars... :foilhead:

"Sorting out" can also mean a fight. :D

Examples: "I'm gonna sort 'im out in a minute", "He needs a good sorting out", "He was sorted out good and proper" :D
