Took an all day ride down through the hill country between Augusta and Belfast with the wife. Spotted a red Ural by the Windsor Fairgrounds.

By any chance, do you have a paint color code for the TerraCotta color?

I think my Solo is TerraCotta but not sure.

It's sort've a cross between red and orange, but more red.

Hey Brian, I have seen the terracotta red. Yours is not the same color. The terracotta has more orange in it than yours. I think yours is more like the red used on the 2014's with the white stripes. Like jae's and jwaller's. Although it's hard to tell without the contrast of the white. Yours may actually be darker than that.

Thanks...yeah I bought it slightly used and you know, it was just...Red.

I dont know the exact color, but its not a candy red, deep red or a bright red or even a mahogany red...its just....red. I'd like to get the color code so I can order some paint. I want to paint the valve covers and the fairing.

I suppose when I get ready, I can take it to a good auto paint supplier and have them match it..I know a couple of places in Amarillo....but I'm in no hurry tho...

Okay, okay, it's not the kitchen sink, it's a bathroom sink but I figure that's close enough.

Today I attacked The Small Jungle/scrapyard I Laughingly call a garden. Phoebe the Ural and her Trailypig were called into service to do some runs to the tip.

My wife and i went to church for the second time in 2 weeks on the Gear Up! She really likes riding with me. This is a first for us riding together in my 13 years of riding standard motorcycles.

I like it that we are side by side and can point out things of interest, nice houses and scenery. Sometimes she takes a nap too :)

After church we had lunch (UDF at the gas station and restaraunt), went to see my parents and took the long scenic way home in south Texas.

It was a total of about 50 miles today. I'm gaining confidence in the Ural. About 350 miles on it now and I'm learning what it likes.

My 2016 T TWD was finally delivered to me this Saturday!
Didn't take more than 10 minutes of ownership to experience my first UDF as an older couple saw the rig and a nice conversation about past and future travel destinations, Ural history and motorcycles in general evolved :)
Spent the rest of the day finding reasons to drive around town while smiling from ear to ear!

On Sunday it was time for some practice in a parking lot, getting a feeling for my three wheeled metal beast and familiarizing with the sensation of flying the chair, which didn't even scare my girlfriend in the sidecar (or myself for that matter) as much as I thought it would.
Afterwards a cozy ride in the countryside with a short dirt road passage in between. :D

Apart from constantly forgetting about the parking break - which also explained the interesting smell after the first 200m  - it really was a great first weekend!

Took a ride with my wife up into Concord, Mass. Then stopped by UralNE to look around. They have a very nice shop and was given the first class tour. About 350 kilometers round trip. I have about 1250 kilometers on it now, and it is really starting to come alive. It is pulling grades easily in fourth gear that I used to have to take in third.

You guys have all the fun. I rode mine to the hardware store to buy parts to fix some bi folding doors here. Then to the grocery store for chow and lastly to visit a friend who's in the hospital with a broken hip, fell off a ladder.

I'd rather gone for a long ride, say to Maine or Washington State. But some of us have to work both at home and at a job. :sarcasm:
