New Saddlebags.

Postby lochinvar » Mon Mar 14, 2016 1:13 am

Picked up some new Saddlebags. They are attached in the front with Velcro straps attached to lower front D-rings on the bags.

I sprayed them with Silicon to increase there water resistance - I live near Seattle. Heh...

I think they look pretty good.

Whaddu think?

Nice. Nice touch.

I'm really shocked it's so hard to get panniers for our rigs that don't cost so much, and will actually hold stuff l.

I'm wit ya. These were $20. I am pretending they match the camo. I have tarp and poncho in one side, older Frogg Toggs in the other.

Not quite as pretty as yours, but I picked up these on FleaBay, £35 for the pair

Panniers 02.jpg

Enough straps on them to hold down a feral cat

They're also good for either the rear rack or over the nose of the chair

British 58 pattern large packs as used in the Falklands.
Hard to undo the straps when wet as I know from bitter experience.

Bubble wrap

I filled 'em full of bubble wrap to aid the waterproofing process. I'll still be wrapping everything in them in plastic bags as well.

I've got the same bags, but they look much better on your paint scheme.

Got mine from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019Z2FXTQ?keywords=green%20canvas%20saddlebags&qid=1457976190&ref_=sr_1_2&sr=8-2)
$20, just like you.

I'm a big fan of soft panniers. $100 for two bags, and $107 for shipping to the States is still a lot cheaper than most of "industry" soft motorcycle luggage, dontcha think. And they look great. And no one has to know that you use trash bags inside them to keep your feral cats dry.

edit.... 35£ per PAIR?!? I should read my copy more closely.
