Single wheel drive shouldn't stop you going off road.

It doesn't stop me.

2 wheel drive just gets you further along the track before you get stuck

hmmm, what do I do when my Retro is running well, which is most of the time...

go out and ride the pi$$ out of it...I suggest you do as well...and service her JUST LIKE AND WHEN THE BOOK SAYS TOO!
Fresh oil is happy oil... and even a Retro can do a fire road ( I kinda kept up with nightblues59),

a Tourist has close to the same clearance as a 2WD, enjoy your rig...

Mine is also running well, so to see how well it will take my wife and me in a weeks trip. Big Bend, Carlsbad Caverns, Ft. Davis you get the idea.

You have my age=>
Go take your daughter and son, cling the fishing pole, tent and camping stove on the rig and go
=> Show them a few horizons.

In an eventual lack of kid's take the other half orange, or just go and you will find the right company on your way following your nose.
Or get your dog and let the dog tell you why he sticks his nose into the wind...Dogs have excellent philosophy approaches and are pretty wise :P

Next week I will go 'back to the roots". :lurker:

With a DIY foam air filter the rig runs well even in tropical rain. The air box looks then like an aquarium. :moto:

Plan on joining us in June for the 3x3x3 in Fennimore, Wisconsin.
We may not have it all together,
But, together we have it all.

I went out this afternoon on my 02 tourist to run errands. It still feels like a NEW bike, the transmission is tight & crisp, & it just purrs along with no rattles or bangs. It was a beautiful day & I remember thinking how perfect & heavenly it was. Heading home from my last errand - I don't know how it happened - but Ivan kidnapped me & held me hostage for several hours. When I finally got home I had a sunburn.

I've taken my Tourist on lots of logging roads, gravel roads, two tracks, etc.

I think it's time for a roadtrip of the three-day, two-night variety. Enjoy, you and your Ural have earned it.

Ride it down to Florida. Stop at Holopaw and say Hi to Gene. He'll probably let you set up a tent in his back 40 for a day or so. When it gets too warm head back home.

Or, if employed, just ride it to work EVERY DAY and get a reputation for being "the weird one on that odd machine".
