A great reason to get the Windmill air cleaner

Postby Harvey Mushman » Thu Aug 22, 2013 10:37 pm

We have loved our 2010 Gear Up since we picked it up over a year ago. Julie has said that there would only be one thing that she'd change about it. That is the intake drone from the bottom breather air box when we are climbing a hill or otherwise hard on the gas. Having her head so close to it made it a bit much on longer rides. A while back I saw Barry experimenting with different intakes. I noticed that the latest breathed only from the left side. I installed one and we cannot believe how much quieter it is overall and especially on the sidecar side of the bike. Julie gave it two thumbs up on the first hill we climbed.
I must say that this is one high quality piece of workmanship. I really think it should be something installed at Irbit.

Yeah. For an 'EPA' bike, there is a good amount of sound going on. I get what IMWA had to say about the design of the intake. That massive top cover is pretty surprising. I'm looking forward to the Wind-mill.

Have a good one.

Why? Air doesn't circulate between the tub and bike on the left side?

Or does it circulate the opposite direction? :? Wait, I think that applies to south of the equator, not to a left-handed sidecar! :D

ding, ding, ding, we have a winner! My point was that the intake noise no longer bothers the monkey. It actually is much quieter from any angle.
