Found it, that's great. Would probably do the same for my 06 Tourist. Would you be interested in making one for me? Any ideas what the cost would be? Would you need some sort of template?

finally bumped up the height of the spare tire to clear my non-stock jerry can. And decided to try my hand at wire wheel truing after watching a couple youtube videos. Surprising amount of runout, radial and lateral, maybe .3", got it down to .05" or so. Not a job for anyone lacking patience! My Harbor Freight wheel balancer served admirably with my makeshift pointer, pic was after I remounted the tire, good news was that once the wheel was reasonably true it didn't need near as many weights to balance it.

Put new brake pads on the front brake today. I went SUPER CHEAP. I got pads on Amazon, two sets, for $11.99. I know, stupid, but I've owned two KLR650's. You know I've got to be a tightwad.

I know what I did yesterday. Over-torqued my Left cylinder cover after adjusting the valves and cracked it. Found out when I started the bike up this morning. Now I better buy a better quality Torque wrench and make sure I didn't over torque the head bolts as well. Anyone have a spare cover?
Thanks, Greg

PS (edit): got one in the car trunk too. Took the bulb out the trunk lamp after I found out it's on all the time the car is unlocked. :o

Howdy all, Holy cow it's winter already. I swear my Grandparent were right when they us to tell me the older you get the faster time flies by. I turned 50 just this November. 2017 will go down as one of the hardest years of my life. Having the last 3 surgeries out of 7 from my motorcycle accident in 2015, unwittingly divorced after paying my wife's debt off and sending my step-daughter to college, Having to move from my home, and becoming a single Dad raising my teenage daughter full time by myself. They say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. In this case I must be one hell-of-a badass by now.... I do however have to thank the strong outpouring of emotional support by all you, my friends at Soviet Steeds. For if not for you folks. I would have felt like I was going through this turmoil all alone.
which brings me to the subject of my R3W Steering Damper kit. Unfortunately I am forced to have to raise the price a little do to my suppliers raising their costs to me. The price is now a flat $150. USD. However US shipping still remains free. I'm truly sorry for having to do this. I've found that it is difficult to keep up with rising material costs. Thank you all so very much.
Hey Folks, I'm looking for a solo Ural motorcycle. Any machine will do. from a Wolf, Solo or just a rig without it's sidecar. drop me a PM

Sorry, I got interrupted .

When my ex Wife bugged out leaving me with a 12 YO Son and a seriously underwater house, I used Motocycles to teach him many things, responsibility, taking the long view in life, safety, on and on .

My never quitting forged a tight bond between us his Mother envies 30 years later .

I know you can do this thing .
