I found this site when doing searches for the elusive Ural motorcycle. I have been all over this country and sojourned in a few neighboring countries as well but to date have only actually laid my eyes an 2 Urals and that was long ago! This place has been an education for me as well as a place I could feel a camaraderie among people who love the Ural the same as I do. And I don't even own one yet! This place has resulted in me finding a bike that I feel will suit my needs and it is and will be salve for my tortured soul as i wait for the day when I can finally go get that strange machine that haunts my dreams. I am pleased and very happy to be here and hope to be here a long time. Thanks John!

I have moderated at other places. anytime you have a need, let me know. but it seems you have some great mods here now.

John, I too have just taken the time to read your manifesto. What a great attitude and philosophy. I have only been a member and Ural rider for a short time, but I have learned so much and found so many interesting how to tutorials that I will have no hesitation to tackle whatever needs attention on Вероника. Thanks for all you and the others do towards making my Ural experience a happy one.

Hi John I am a new owner of an older Ural Tourist with newer 750 rebuilt engine. I had alot of questions after I bought the bike and needed to fix little things. Everywhere I looked everyone wanted to get in my wallet, then I made one lucky phone call to a guy in Poland Maine named Bill he was helping me with an electrical problem that we could not solve he then mentioned Soviet Steeds and said I would get my answer there. Well John I posted my electrical problem on your site and within notime I had the answer and many other suggestions. Your site has people with a wealth of knowledge
on the Ural who have the same philosophy as you "knowledge should be shared not sold". For this I want to thank you for letting me join in your noble cause and be a member of an online community with a no strings attached financial attitude. As I am learning to aggregate through your site I keep finding more interesting things thank you for a great place to go to learn more about my Ural.

Cheers
Walter

As a new URAL owner, and without dealer support in my area (service is secondary to selling) all I can say is THNX. I'm a fairly competent wrench and a quick study so this place is perfect. Especially since people seem to ignore the repetitive newby questions and just answer them.
