That would have been a much better shot if the camera wasn't so dusty - and I can safely blame warcat for that!

Re: Mt Baker Ural Rally aka MBUR 2016 Officially Aug 6,7,8

It looks like I'll be riding out Friday and heading back in Saturday night so I can catch some hot seafair plane-on-plane action on Sunday :)

Re: today's snake

I think he's being pedantic because venomous != poisonous. To quote a totally unscientific article:

If you bite it and die, it is poisonous; if it bites you and you die, it is venomous. (http://boingboing.net/2015/07/16/what-is-the-difference-between.html)

The hack pilot should have tried slowing down or turning a bit, lol. I think he forgot how wide the sidecar was and thought he was going to clear the car completely. Poor babushka!

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?

I went and practiced my flying a bit :)

I've got left turns down pretty well but I can't go very tight without grinding the pontoon!

Perfect! Thanks

Re: Mt Baker Ural Rally aka MBUR 2016 Officially Aug 6,7,8

I just saw this and it looks like a lot of fun - unfortunately, months later, things are even more booked up! Is there a chance I can bandwagon with the already reserved spots? I just need room for the rig and my small tent and would be more than happy to pitch in for the camping fees.

Re: Legal Number of passengers

The Ural website just says to make sure you have < 600 lbs of meat&cargo on your rig. Easy enough!

Re: Legal Number of passengers

As Tim mentioned check with your local powers that be. Here in WA a child has to be 7 years old to be a passenger on a motorcycle. No idea how that translates to in a sidecar? This(WA) is 'bleeding hearts' country so your laws probably vary. Also on a bike you legally need passenger foot pegs for e...

FML thats cold

That's shorts'n'sweatshirt weather in FBX heh. The low humidity and typically low wind makes it pretty manageable compared to the coastal cities imho.

Re: Sidecar brake failure

Whenever I have a spare moment for my Ural, I've been taking it out and driving it with 2/3 brakes instead of fixing the sidecar brake. I regret nothing, but the caliper has been tucked up in the sidecar for weeks now. It wasn't too bad to drive like that - the rig stops about as straight as it acce...
