Re: OH the typicla 70+ year old Ural frustration...rear brake adjustment

You've been through the videos in this old discussion? > http://sovietsteeds.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=10871

How is the rear brake arm (on the final drive hub) clocked? Have you made any changes there?

Re: BMW conversion to Ural/Dnepr

The /5 frame (and later /6,7) being two-piece simply isn't up to the trashing. Needs one-piece /2 frame with /5 (or later) engine and Earles fork. Still no reverse. Twenty years ago I would have tackled building a custom heavy frame for BMW gear (no energy for that nonsense anymore). My Dnurl is hap...

Final Drive bolts (at the swing arm). Once a week. Loose bolts kill final drives.

Just thought I'd tag the original post onto this one as reference; as time goes by they'll become separated: New Harley style mufflers and cat delete

Re: Would you buy a Ural if there was no dealership around?

It's too bad "we" don't have the financial resources to compile an " Anonymous Book " like BWM Owners of America has. It's a list of owners, all across the US and Canada, who are willing to offer services to other members on the road, as best the can. Ranging from: stop on by for...

Re: Newbie intro and question

Welcome aboard Motorman, that's a helluva first post adventure story! Glad you survived to tell it. It gave me pause to think about my own tires. I just put on a new pusher; the front steer is next. The front and sidecar tires have rubber stem inner tubes, and I noticed that the rim is cutting into ...

Re: Farmall cub air cleaner help

Just guessing... all of it goes in. edit... the air goes down through the center tube, peculates through the oil bath and is drawn up through the mesh (which helps separate the oil). But like everything else, it seems, there's an online group for Farmall Cubs > http://www.farmallcub.com/phpBB2/viewf...

Re: Wrecked my 2016 GU, what’s the next step (w/photos)

+1 on hydraulic press. But you could probably find an entire "new" stem for $30 (?) Using a press (if you're not familiar with the process) https://youtu.be/qfU0H7K_mgs The "auto part" stores used to have a press in the back for misc. work. Might be worth asking. If you don't hav...
