Re: Pros and Cons on K&N Air Filter

And just very lightly oiled on inside of filter. Think of how my dad used to tell the waiter how he liked his steak cooked, "Just walk it through the kitchen on the way to the dining room". It took me three times to finally get the "amount" of oil on the filter right. I use the ...

Re: Anybody shoot Trap?

The + on the Benelli M4 is the ability to fit chokes. If my 870 Express tactical was capable of fitting chokes (it is not) I might be inclined to keep working with it. The LOP is really too short for anything other than what it was designed to do; fitting new stocks, and a longer barrel just isn't w...

Anybody shoot Trap?

I got bit by the Trap bug this weekend with my Remington 870 Express (18" barrel); broke maybe 30% of what I was shooting at. It's been a long time since I shot trap, so I didn't feel too bad about it. But I'm thinkin' about this little piece. Mossberg Maverick Over/Under , 12ga., 28" barr...

Wonder if it's 2wd with limited slip for the deep sand.

Got any more pix?

Re: Two rigs in CA, local to me...

Aw, c'mon, Lew. Why buy that 2008 Ural for $5,000, when you can get this 1969/1971/1978+ Ural for $9,750? Ya know, regardless of what "year" any bike is purported to be, or what it is registered as, it simply comes down to mechanics. The only thing "known" about my rig is that t...

Given the frosty setting, reindeer names come to mind.. . . I'm partial to Donner and Blitzen (Thunder and Lightning in German (but you probably already knew that)).

Re: CL. Is this what the seller says it is ?

I was going simply on the similar appearance of the fork sliders compared to those from the article; there are a couple of other examples of them in the link. Regardless of what it "really" is, this is a clean looking machine. Certainly not $9,750 worth of clean, but nice. It appears that ...

Re: WTB a carb for my 05 Retro (Keihin CVK-32)

If cleaning the carbs keeps you going well for a few months before the same issue reappears, I'd suspect a contamination issue rather than a carb part failure.

Re: WTB a carb for my 05 Retro (Keihin CVK-32)

"It works for a few months" being the operative phrase.

So what routinely changes over the course of a few months ... condition of the air filter, fuel filters, ???

Overly-oiled air filter? Disconnect air filter branch tubes and take out for a short test run.
