Re: What did you do to your Ural today?

I went riding to visit a friend who was moving away. On the way I saw a GARAGE SALE sign. It was in expensive area so I went there. I found a great, near new wool rug 5'x8' for $10. I offered $20 because I thought tag said $40. He said I was mistaken, ( I wasn't wearing reading glasses, my excuse) i...

Re: EFI valve adjustment

F2 method works well, doesn't require flywheel mark. http://f2mcltd.blogspot.com/2011/10/ural-750-tappet-adjustment.html Breaking torque and then re-torquing the heads is a good way to learn what a Time-Sert is. Not worth it. Just put the wrench on and check/ tighten. :D I KNOW what a Time-Sert is!...

Re: Chain Saw Heaven

Nice chain saw. I have a 25 year old Husky that is still sawing my firewood. I really wanted to keep the Stihl but the EPA mandated carb changes means I'd have to spend about $200 just on parts to get the conversion to a new style carb done - new carb, carb adapter, new air filter housing, new rear...

Re: What would you choose?

I don't do payments or interest. Not ever, not now, not in the future. Screw Banks, etc.

I'd choose the Used 2017 Metallic Bronze GearUp, 300 miles, $12,999, offer them $12K cash and see if it works. Maybe they would come down $400-500 or something, you never know.

It's just my way.

Re: If You Could Save 50%. Would you?

Depends, but usually not. I know my DeWalt cordless 18V drills and saws are worth infinitely more than their Chinese equivalents at Harbor Freight. Actually master cylinders are pretty simple devices. If I knew dimensions and fittings of Brand X over the OEM Brand Y, and both were good master cylin...

Re: Iron Butt Association rides: Anyone completed a Saddle Sore 1000?

I did 990 miles in one long, but pleasant day on Victory Cross Country. I rode from Spirit Lake IA (Victory/Indian factory) to Kemmerer, WY, going through Gillette, WY. I was actually quite easy, cruise control set mostly at 80-85 mph. Almost zero traffic in the middle of nowhere. It wasn't hard at ...

Re: RPOC - Should I buy?

I would pass on it. If I wanted a 2nd "Running" Ural. I'd seriously look at this one: https://desmoines.craigslist.org/mcy/d/2007-ural-patrol/6583831173.html http://www.sovietsteeds.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=51594 More $$$, but much better IMO. Perhaps there is some "bargain ...

Re: Time to start a new forum

Of course I would expect it to be limited in content to like a thousand words or less, anyone who can't cover what ails them in that many words probably should be dead anyway. What say the collective? Can't speak for he collective I learned at a much younger age there is nothing more boring t...
