Re: Would you buy a Ural if there was no dealership around?

Yeah, I think I get more fun fixing/restoring bikes than riding them. After you ride a Ural a few times, you will probably feel the opposite! Although we happen to have one fella here (who will remain nameless but he fixes tomcats!) and he seems to feel the same way. BTW, if you can turn ...

Re: World Travel - Are LEFT HAND sidecars legally allowed to be used on AMERICAN Roads

I ran across a youtube channel about a car company in Australia that imports American cars and then does a factory-quality conversion to right hand drive...they were quite expensive. $130,000 to $150,000 Australian which is about $100,000 to $120,000 USD for a Nissan or Dodge Pickup..roughly twice w...

Re: World Travel - Are LEFT HAND sidecars legally allowed to be used on AMERICAN Roads

Interesting. I owned and drove a right hand drive postal Jeep for several years...City and rural mail delivery in this country is often done with either right hand drive vehicles, or the driver will sit on the right side of a smaller car and deliver mail from the right side window while operating th...

Re: I think I may want a UTV, willing to buy or trade for it.

lol....yeah.... Well my plan is downsize as best I can and travel light, being able to get back into some secluded areas on rough roads has some appeal to me. Still, as small as it looks, with the trailer, this is about 37 feet long. I won't be fitting more than one power toy in it, so for now, the ...

Re: I think I may want a UTV, willing to buy or trade for it.

Just keep thinking, you buy a UTV and a trailer large enough to haul it on and the next thing you know you'll be looking for something bigger then the larger van you have been talking about, when it all comes together get a hold of me I'll sell you the truck you need to pull your new toys....

You know how Harleys and Urals are 'babe magnets' on the streets?

Well, the UTVs are the babe magnets of the desert...

Yeah.

So.....I'm thinking now...

Never a good thing.

Re: Lubbock TX Craigslist - 2011 Ural 1WD - $5,000

It's listed on the Roswell CL, but who knows. I've seen a couple of Urals in the Lubbock area for sale recently, if someone is seriously interested in a Ural in this area, I can go by and put eyes and hands on it and report my impressions. Out here in 'fly-over' country, we are a long way from major...

Re: Why Do They Salt Roads?

It's cheap (relatively speaking) and reduces the need for expensive responses to accidents. Follow the money trail. Some of the stuff they use in winter in the northeast (like magnesium chloride) literally eats metal. If you ever notice the back end of a semi-trailer that is rusted, corroded, fallin...

Netflix email scam

IF you have Netflix, watch out for this scam email telling you that your account has been suspended and they need you to click on a link and re-enter your payment details. IGNORE IT! I got one of these emails and I nearly fell for it.... netflix-scam.JPG http://bgr.com/2018/02/02/netflix-sign-i...m-...
