Re: Whadya think about my flywheel?

I agree with jaybird.......flywheel should be fine, just check all the grooves for rough spots and touch them up. You do need to replace all you clutch parts......the teeth on your pressure plate are pretty worn.

Based on your VIN, it is a 2006. Tenth digit signifies the year.

Re: Vin Check 2006 Gear Up

You can email Ural HQ directly and get when the bike was built / sold. I know some dealers say that some late model year 06s came with Ducati ignition, but I’ve never seen one. Every 06 I’ve seen had the Type 5 orginally. Check as Recycled says to determine what ignition it has. Post pics if you nee...

Re: 2006 Gear Up in good condition, never ridden before

Ask Darrell He owned two 06 ural Technically, I've owned three different 06 Urals. IMHO one of the best Ural years. Never heard of any major issues with the 06's. If you take care of them they will take care of you. If it has the stock ignition, you will have to spend about $400 to replace it with ...

That's what I was getting at. Both pistons are at TDC at the same time.

Can you explain how this will keep the engine pistons from moving when performing a leak down test?

Re: Increased Oil Consumption (or How Tough are Urals)

I tried to do a leak down test as well, but I couldn't keep the engine from turning over some when putting in the air. I need to make a tool to hold the flywheel inplace when doing a leak down test. Put the tranny in gear and block the rear wheel from turning. Still too much play in drive train / g...

Re: EFI (again)

Have yet to hear of a report of holed pistons with the EFI Ural. You should be fine with the stock map as long as you run the Ural where it is happiest, 50 - 55 mph. When I first bought mine I had the stock map in it. I installed a CHT gauge. I lived north of Denver, 6000' altitude. Running the bike...
