Re: Sidecar Seat Back Mod?

Yeah the seat is designed so the bottom cushion keeps the bottom of the back cushion from popping forward and dropping down. I would think a couple magnets at the bottom of the seat back would work? Velcro, bungie cord?

Re: Possible Ural cT Buyer

And does anyone make a lock setup and Kevlar or some such for a Toneau cover? Dang, now I want to retire now and get going, sigh. Don't know if it's still offered cause it wasn't a big seller but Raceways Ural in OR used to sell a custom fiberglass hardtop cover for the tub. Kinda like the flat fgl...

Re: Possible Ural cT Buyer

99.9% metric. There are a few SAE fasteners but not many. You might add a couple SAE allen wrenches to your tool kit. Comparing a Honda or any Jap gearbox to a Ural box is a day/night difference. More similar to old Harley gearboxes where if shifted correctly you get a nice solid clunk. None of the ...

Read your owners manual. It'll tell you how to do the diagnostic procedure to obtain a fault code also explained in the owners manual.

Re: Maasdam puller: rope, cable or webbing?

If the puller calls for 1/2" use 1/2" pully design is line dia specific. Also when buying syn rope buy quality. The rope that comes with the Massdam is a PolyDac blend. Very strong, minimal stretch and wears well. Don't buy cheap polypro. It's strength is minimal, chaffs badly, Extremely s...

Everything about wire rope come-alongs is a PITA.

Congrats on the purchase. IMO unless you have a wife that demands the windshield for the tub, I'd forget it. All it does is direct the air/rain to the driver. :(

Re: Would this be good to help with break in?

No, the first few minutes/miles are critical for ring seating and they need some friction. W/o lugging/over-reving just vary your speeds often. You want both upper and lower edges of the rings to wear-in(seat).

Re: M67 Fuses

If he's blowing a 25amp fuse that would be a good bet or something wired to ground. +1 25A is pretty heavy fuse. As much of a hassle as it is, I think I'd remove the fuel tank so I could see better. It would also be a good opportunity to inspect the entire wiring harness and terminals. +2 Sounds la...

You don't use the clutch to shift between 1WD/2WD. What difference would disconnecting the eng from trans make shifting the FD?

Re: I committed the cardinal sin...need help trying to get her back on the road

Sitting a month shouldn't affect the carbs cleanliness. I'm leaning toward Nicks reply. Check the air box for signs of it being a mouse house or the top feeder air box may have allowed the air filter to get water logged. I'd also inspect the HT leads for signs of being chewed on. You're either runni...

Re: After long and hard hwy riding, need to add some oil?

they don't have any Baikal's in the warehouse anyway. They can order one but it will take at least 60 days and I suspect that means 60-90. Ninety is the absolute limit for a new bike wait given that spring is here. NC Normal scenario for popular or custom colors. :( What "60 days means only IM...
